Cape Town - Veteran Mamelodi Sundowns star Teko Modise has hailed the young midfield brigade at the club, saying it was one of the driving reasons behind their recent success.
Local trio Themba Zwane, Bongani Zungu and Keagan Dolly have been at the heart of everything the Brazilians have done in recent months, with Modise left marvelling many times at the progress.
"We have a very good generation of young midfielders here and there's a reason why some of them are doing well in the national team as well," he said.
"For me as a senior player, I always want to learn from them and that's what I am doing. They teach me and I pass on my experience to them."
With Hlompho Kekana also flourishing, and the likes of Khama Billiat and Mogakolodi Ngele succeeding in more attacking roles, Modise also has to be content with filling in whenever coach Pitso Mosimane needed him.
He added: "Within the team, there's teamwork and it has to be that way to be successful. Whoever plays, he needs to make sure he needs to do it well. We win together and we lose together, it's not about who plays and who doesn't."
Sundowns are currently on a 15-match unbeaten Premiership run that has put them top of the table. The Chloorkop outfit are also the reigning Telkom Cup and Nedbank Cup champions.
