Cape Town - SuperSport United utility player Aubrey Modiba is thrilled to be playing the Telkom Knockout final in his home city, against his former club.
SuperSport take on Cape Town City (formerly known as Black Aces, the club Modiba played for last season) at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday evening.
"I'm happy to go and play a cup final in my hometown. This is really a good feeling and I can't wait to be in Polokwane. I will be playing in front of my family, friends and most of all my fans. It is really going to be a memorable event," he told his club's website.
Modiba, who has played 12 games for SuperSport this season, initially joined 13 other players in making the switch to Cape Town City when the club bought out Black Aces' franchise in pre-season, but then complted a deadline day move to Pretoria.
With Matsatsantsa second on the table, and heading into a major cup final, the South African under-23 international is very happy with the choice he made.
"We must win this one for our fans and this will be a good Christmas gift to them," he added.
"I really enjoy myself in the Matsatsantsa family. We are a good team that looks after each other including our fans who give us unwavering support all the way.
"We are ready for the big day and we are not going to disappoint our fans."
