SuperSport United midfielder Aubrey Modiba has teamed up with Grant Kekana and Ramahlwe Mphahlele to help provide people in his community with food parcels.
Many South African's are struggling to feed their families during the coronavirus pandemic
While stuck at home in Metz in the Limpopo province, Modiba explained that he couldn't ignore calls from community members to provide some relief.
Speaking to the City Press, explained he called on SuperSport teammate Kekana and Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mphahlele to assist him.
He said: "Many people from my village have been calling me to help whichever way I can and I have undertaken to contribute food parcels. The aim is to reach 100 families.
"The coronavirus crisis calls for those who are in a fortunate situation to do their bit.
"Obviously, this project is not something that has been budgeted for, that’s why I turned to Grant and Rama and they are eager to assist. My agent Glyn Binkin is also helping out."
