SuperSport United CEO Stanley Matthews has revealed that Thabo Mnyamane and Thabo Qalinge will be released by the club at the end of the season.

Matsatsantsa have been working behind the scenes as much as possible to prepare themselves as a number of player contracts expire in June.

The current Premier Soccer League season is still suspended as a result of the coronavirus, with no clear indication yet as to when it will resume.

Nonetheless, Matthews says along with Dean Furman, who has already ended his stay with SuperSport, both Mnyamane and Qalinge will need to search for new teams.

He said on IOL: "There are players who are on their way out. We just wanted to wait and give a chance to everybody, so that when their option date came in May, we could exercise them.

"But it is now clear that football won't be played before the end of May and not before the end of June. At that time, certain contracts would have come in to an end. The sad reality is that I have to make that call now.

"Players like Thabo Mnyamane, Thabo Qalinge and Dean Furman who you know is returning to the UK are not going to be retained. When their contract expires in June, they will be free agents."

The 28-year-old Qalinge is a former Orlando Pirates and Mpumalanga Black Aces player while Mnyamane (27) joined SuperSport from the University of Pretoria.
