Mnyamane laments lack of focus

Cape Town - SuperSport United attacker Thabo Mnyamane believes a lapse in concentration cost them the points against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.

Mnyamane scored the opening goal for Matsatsantsa before his strike was cancelled by a George Lebese strike.

The 24 year-old was disappointed that his team could only hang on to the lead for a single minute.

"I'm thankful for having such a team. We worked hard, good effort from the boys. We were just unlucky not to get a win but we'll take a draw," Mnyamane told SuperSport.

"I think it was lack of concentration during a critical phase when we were still hyped up from the goal and they got their chance and scored.

"But we'll work on it. Fortunately it wasn't two or three because they had their chances and we also had ours."

Coach Stuart Baxter in a post-match interview said that the second-half of the game failed to reach the standard of the first period and added that both teams were unlucky not to score more than one goal.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
