Mnguni praises the 'quality' Vilakazi

Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bennet Mnguni strongly believes that there is still more to come from attacking midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi.

The 27-year-old former 2013/14 PSL Footballer of the Season and Downs big-name signing, is yet to hit top gear at CAF Champions League champions.

"You know, Sundowns spent so much money to bring him to Chloorkop. He is a big-name signing, and obviously his arrival came with high expectations mostly from the supporters and even media alike," Mnguni told Vodacom Soccer.

"Joining a star-studded team like Sundowns takes a little bit of time for any player coming from a so-called 'small team' like Wits to adapt.

"But what I like about Pitso (Mosimane) is that he gives Vilakazi game-time and support, despite the booing he has been subjected to from some team's supporters.

"Vilakazi is a quality player, there is no doubt about that, and he is gradually finding his feet at Sundowns. Sooner than later he will rediscover the form that made him the PSL Footballer of the Season.

"There is still more to come from him, and I strongly believe that he will make an impact in Sundowns' challenge for league and Champioms League title defence," added the 42-year-old former Downs midfield workhorse."
