Mncwango to sign Polokwane extension

Cape Town - Polokwane City are close to agreeing a contract extension with in-demand sharpshooter Thobani Mncwango after his move to Orlando Pirates collapsed.

The 28 year-old has been linked with a move to the Buccaneers since last season where he scored 13 goals for City.

After his switch failed to materialise, Rise and Shine have convinced the striker to remain with the team ahead of the new season.

Coach Luc Eymael expressed delight to keep the team's best goal poacher.

"He was second top scorer in the league last season‚ so that shows you his quality‚" Eymael told Times Media Digital.

"He has only really started his pre-season now‚ he did not play in our previous games against Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United because he was a little bit injured.

"He is responding really well though because we have changed our system of play completely from last season and he has found it very comfortable to adapt."
