Mncwango sets his sights on Golden Boot

Cape Town - Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango believes that he has chance to claim the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot award this season.

Mncwango along with Khama Billiat and Prince Nxumalo are slowly catching up to Collins Mbesuma at the top of the PSL goal scorers lists.

Mbesuma is currently on 12 goals while Nxumalo is on 10, Mncwango on nine and Billiat on eight goals respectively.

According to KickOff, Mncwango strongly deems that he can challenge for the honour as long as he remains humble and take his coaches advice.

"As long as I stay humble and keep listening to my coaches with the support of my team-mates I believe I can challenge for the award.

"All I need to do is maintain my focus. Right now I am feeling encouraged considering that the leading scorer is just three ahead of me with so many games still left to play.

"I genuinely feel I can compete for the award this season because I am in the kind of form that gives me belief that I will score again in the next match.

"If I score a brace or a hat-trick I will suddenly be next to the leading scorer."
