Mncwango backs Baroka for promotion

Cape Town - Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango supports his former club Baroka FC in their bid for promotion to the Premiership.

Baroka need just a point from their final National First Division match against Milano United on Sunday to secure automatic promotion to the top tier of South African football.

Mncwango recalls his time with Baroka before moving to Rise and Shine in 2013, and feels the club and everyone associated with them deserves to be promoted.

"I still go and watch their matches when I can, I feel very close to that club," the 28-year-old told KickOff.

"I really hope they get promoted, the chairman [Khurishi Mphahlele] is very professional in everything he does.

"He was running that team like a PSL club when they were still in the second division [ABC Motsepe League]."
