Middendorp hopes Rama, Baccus return for final games of 2019

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is aiming to use the international break to get Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Kearyn Baccus fit again.

Mphahlele has been out of contention for over two months and is still struggling to fully recover, while Baccus is sidelined with a knee injury.

Amakhosi will face Maritzburg United on Saturday, 23 November in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals, following the international break, and Middendorp is hoping the pair will be available for selection for the clash at Mbombela Stadium.

"We must prepare ourselves to be successful in this game," Middendorp told the media as quoted by FarPost.

"It's related to this next game, simple and easy, looking into bringing some players back like Kearyn Baccus.

"Rama is so far at the moment in terms of preparedness... it's our duty to pay attention individually to players like Rama, Baccus and other players to bring them to the same level as the regulars."

Following the Telkom Knockout semi-final Chiefs have three games before the festive season break -  Stellenbosch FC (November 27), Bloemfontein Celtic (December 7) and cap off 2019 with an encounter against Maritzburg United (December 22).
