Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has bemoaned his side's recent goalkeeping woes after seeing them held to a 1-1 draw by Polokwane City at the weekend.
Amakhosi claimed the lead against Rise and Shine, with Daniel Cardoso slotting home from the penalty spot in the 15th minute.
However, their lead didn't last long as Polokwane drew level just six minutes later, Walter Musona firing home from range after a blunder at the back by Nigerian keeper Daniel Akpeyi.
And, with Virgil Vries having already been demoted after noteworthy errors of his own, Middendorp admits the current situation is becoming uncomfortable to deal with.
"If I had an explanation for why we conceded these [soft] goals against Sundowns, Cape Town City or today again, I would give you an answer," Middendorp is quoted as saying by KickOff.
"But this is unexplainable, it's just irritating and not comfortable for all of us [to deal with]. I think to concede in such a way, I didn't see any other opportunities for Polokwane City. With all due respect, we scored two goals."
Chiefs players will have a chance to redeem themselves when Highlands Park visit Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday for a crunch Premiership clash.
