Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin
Sredojevic is confident the foundations have been laid for Bucs to go on
and win silverware next season.
Amabhakabhaka ended the season in style with a 2-1 win over Free State Stars and finished in second position on the league table, which will allow them to take part in the 2019 CAF Champions League.
Coach 'Micho' was not getting too carried away with the runners-up spot, but is feeling optimistic about what can potentially be achieved next season.
"We have no reason to exaggerate and now boast and to talk too much," the Serbian was quoted saying by KickOff.
"This is normal for the Orlando Pirates brand, the magnitude of the club. But I want to say that the supporters are feeling that this season we have laid the foundation.
"...in front of us [is] the important task: to do a deep analysis, who is supposed to come and who will be released.
"To really have a selection of players that we will continue with the project because now we have the foundation and we need to build the house and those are trophies."
Sredojevic's one regret for the 2017/ 18 campaign was that he felt Bucs played to too many draws.
"I need to tell you the biggest critical aspect is that 15 won matches this season is not enough, we need to win more. We need to turn draws into wins. Out of 10, eight we supposed to have won but football is like that.
"I count especially first round where we had many draws. We are a team with the least number of losses five, but next [season] we will be competing on all fronts. MTN8, Telkom Knockout, Nedbank Cup, league and CAF Champions League."
