Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has backed his side to continue improving next season after securing a second-place finish in the 2018/19 campaign.
The Buccaneers narrowly missed out on the title, finishing just two points behind Pitso Mosimane's title-winning Mamelodi Sundowns.
This comes after Pirates finished in second place behind Downs in the 2017/18 campaign, where the gap between the two sides was five points at the end of the season.
And, provided they add some strength in depth and prepare properly in the off-season, Sredojevic feels its only a matter of time before they end their five-year trophy drought.
"This team can only get better," he told IOL Sport. "If we add cover in certain positions where we need cover, we will be stronger.
"We will strengthen the team with proper pre-season, proper planning and paying attention to the finest detail.
"We smell that success is around the corner."
He continued: "We need to dig deeper and work harder to serve our team in the best way by using the talent of our players in a positive way.
"Get the performances and get the results. You can talk, but what talks louder are performances and results."
