Micho: Norodien will come back stronger

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic believes Riyaad Norodien's presence will be missed although his loan spell at Platinum Stars can help improve his game.

The 22-year-old has made just six starts for the Sea Robbers since joining from Ajax Cape Town in 2016/17, and appeared to be well down in the pecking order in 2017/18 under 'Micho'.

Bucs confirmed on deadline day in the January transfer window that Norodien would be heading to the North West Province in order to try and assist coach Roger de Sa in his attempt to move Stars off the bottom of the Absa Premiership standings.

Currently, the outfit from Phokeng are marooned at the foot of the PSL and need a swift change in fortunes to avoid the dreaded drop to the National First Division.

Nonetheless, Sredojevic said of the player's switch: "Norodien going there (Platinum Stars) we shall miss him for this six months because he has been a master of making (the) atmosphere in the team and (the) spirit.

"Coming back from that long layoff from that injury, I think it will help him in the next six months to get the playing time and come much stronger back."

The Buccaneers will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways when they face Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium in a league clash on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
