Micho: I want Kambole at Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has confirmed his interest in Zesco United striker Lazarous Kambole.

Reports suggest that Pirates have been pursuing the Zambia international, who starred during the COSAFA Cup, but that his club are unwilling to part with the 24-year-old.

The Buccaneers already have Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga in their ranks, and 'Micho' is eager to land yet more Zambian skill.

"They can take anything away from Zambia, but they cannot take away the talent... The talent that is blossoming in this country is incredible - I am really impressed with everything," the Croatian told reporters in Zambia, where Pirates have been preparing for the season ahead.

"So, we are looking forward to have him (Kambole) if possible. We already have Shonga and Mulenga as pure representatives of Zambian football.

"They are bringing a competitive quality, extra performance which a foreign player is supposed to do and that is to make the difference, we are happy to have them."

The admission of interest has come after Zesco CEO Richard Mulenga warned that the club was not planning on offloading Kambole at least until December.

"They are a number of teams, especially from South Africa and the Middle East, interested in him," Mulenga was quoted as saying by the Lusaka Times.

"But what we have told all of them is: we are competing in the league and we are also competing in the Champions League and we wouldn't want to sell our best players right now.

"What we have told them is; talk to us in December."
