Mhlongo hails Pirates spirit

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brighton Mhlongo praised his team's fighting spirit following their comeback in the 3-3 draw against Maritzburg United.

Pirates fought back from three goals down after Mondli Cele, Evans Rusike and Brian Onyango scored in the first-half at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

The Buccaneers replied with three goals from Thabo Rakhale, Thabo Matlaba and Kermit Erasmus to force the draw.

"I have never seen the guys fight like that in recent times. We showed our fighting spirit and we fought together as a team," Mhlongo told Soccer Laduma.

"At half time we told each other that we can't afford to lose the game and that raised our morale and we fought back.

"We wanted a win but with the way things were we did well to get that point."
