Menzo hints at Sait debut

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town head coach Stanley Menzo admits off-season signing Junaid Sait in not content with his lack of first-team football since arriving at Ikamva.

Sait, 24, arrived at the Urban Warriors on a free transfer after a scintillating season in the National First Division with Stellenbosch FC, where they narrowly missed out on promotion to the top-flight.

The ball-playing defender, who's also had spells in Sweden prior to his return to Cape Town, has since been featuring in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge. And his performances have not gone unnoticed, according to Menzo.

"It is not easy for him, he played regularly in the National First Division last season and now he is playing MDC - he needs that challenge and he has asked me how we can keep challenging him," he told the club's website.

"At this moment he feels that he needs a step up, and I am glad he said that to me and has that mentality.

"We have to challenge him if we can’t challenge him in MDC matches or friendly matches we have to challenge him another way."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
