Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo has hailed the return of winger Sameehg Doutie to the club - saying that he will greatly bolster their attacking options.
The 27-year-old signed a short-term deal with the Urban Warriors until the end of the season, following a stint with Indian outfit Atletico de Kolkata.
Menzo is particularly pleased with the fact that Doutie has sound knowledge of the Ajax philosophy - having spent his youth career at the renowned Ikamva academy.
"I think he is a good player, a typical Ajax player, Ajax winger - he knows the system, he knows the club," he told the club's website.
"He has a lot of quality, I think it is a very good signing.
"Also again, it is some recognition for the fans, he is a real Ajax player, he was here in the academy so it is up to him now to showcase those qualities.
"I think with Doutie, he is more a fine attacking player; great in playing between the lines, giving through balls, through passes.
"He has a good cross, good at set-pieces. He can read the game and that is important, especially up front," he concluded.
The former Bidvest Wits, SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates man is expected to compete with the Mark Mayambela, Bantu Mzwakali and Thabo Mosadi for a starting-berth.
