Menzo: Ajax lacking goal confidence

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo has admitted concerns over his side's lack of prowess in front of goal this season.

After just one win in six games, the struggling Urban Warriorts currently sit fourth from bottom on the table.

Having hit the net only five times, Menzo admits there is a problem up front, although he says the issue lies not only with his strikers.

"(Prince) Nxumalo and (Tashreeq) Morris are my goal scorers, but we aren't scoring enough goals at this moment," he told KickOff website.

"But I think that is because of the final pass and the (lack of) confidence in the final third to play the right pass, at the right speed and at the right moment.

"So the player who gives it, and the runner has to be in sync, which is not happening now - it's a pity."

The Cape side returns to action after the international break with an away clash against Free State Stars on Wednesday, 18 October.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
