Mental toughness can change Chiefs' fortunes, says Moleko

Cape Town - Amakhosi defender Kgotso Moleko believes success for Kaizer Chiefs lies in the ability of their players to become mentally stronger.

The 2017/18 season has so far proved somewhat frustrating for Amakhosi, who despite some promising performances, have managed to win only two of their seven league outings, which sees them occupying sixth position, six points behind leaders Baroka FC.

Moleko though is confident that the Soweto giants are capable of a lot more, provided they can ensure focus throughout their matches.

"We find ourselves in this position because we have been unlucky but also sometimes it's because of the lack of focus," the right-back explained to the Star.

"Lack of focus has let us down most of the time. We are trying to play good football, but sometimes things don't go the way we want.

"If we can focus more, things will go well. It's a mental thing. We need to be stronger, whether we are playing well or doing badly. If we can improve, we can turn things around.

"There is some improvement in certain aspects. We are working harder than we have been doing to try and get the required results," he added.
