Memela revels in Nedbank Cup win

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates attacker Luvuyo Memela says everything went according to plan as the Buccaneers defeated Free State Stars on Saturday to book their place in the Nedbank Cup final.

The Buccaneers advanced to the final after a 4-2 victory over Free State Stars on Saturday.

Memela grabbed a brace in the win and was rewarded for his efforts with the man-of-the-match gong.

"It was a tough game. The pace was too high from the start, but as a team we knew how they play and we planned for it so it worked out in the end," Memela told said.

"We knew our results were not good, but we needed to give the supporters something. We knew we had to win this game.

"In football everything doesn't always go your way, but today we decided we will give everything to win the game. Even if we had to die on the field, we would win it."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
