Cape Town - Cape Town City coach Benni McCarthy says the 10-day break between games has been good for his side as they prepare to take on Polokwane City on Friday.
The Citizens' last outing was a 2-1 victory over Sundowns on 5 March and three days before that they beat Bidvest Wits away from home.
The two wins have put City firmly in the PSL title race and, ahead of the match against Rise and Shine, McCarthy has welcomed the opportunity for him and his players to recharge.
McCarthy said, according to the IOL website: "A break is what this team needed. My players are exhausted.
"It's not like I am spoiled for choice where I have (Thabo) Nodada, (Roland) Putsche and Kouassi (Kouadja), Kwanda Mngonyama also got injured in the Wits game.
"So for me, any break is welcomed because that would give me a couple of days for Kwanda to return.
"If I can recover one of the injured players, that's nice. And I wanted to give the players time off with their family, wives and girlfriends."
The Citizens go into the clash at the Cape Town Stadium in third position on the PSL table, only four points behind leaders Sundowns.
