Mayambela surfaces at Highlands Park

Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates and Chippa United winger Mark Mayambela has surfaced at Highlands Park in the hopes of winning a contract with the Lions of the North.

Mayambela parted ways with Chippa at the end of last season and has since been in search of a new club for 2019/20.

He had earlier been linked with a switch to Golden Arrows however it seems he is now in the running to land a deal with Highlands instead.

Coach Owen Da Gama has been generous in handing out trials in recent times as his side recently assessed experienced Premiership performers such as Vuyo Mere, Edwin Gyimah and Sandile Zuke.

Nonetheless, a KickOff source has confirmed that the 31-year-old is next in line and is currently training with the team.

The source said: "Mark Mayambela is training with Highlands Park, he started last week Thursday."

Last season the attack-minded star made 20 Premiership appearances for the Chilli Boys while contributing two goals and two assists.
