Mayambela relishes Mokoena partnership

Cape Town - Newly-signed Ajax Cape Town midfielder Mark Mayambela reveals he is looking forward to seeing winger Lebohang Mokoena in action first hand.

The dribbling-wizard revealed his admiration for the former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns player.

"'Cheeseboy' is a great player," he told KickOff.

"I used to watch him, as he turned pro before I did, and he was a great player, and still is. I'm a fan of players like him: Players with flair - that's what South Africans are all about."

The former Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder also highlighted Mokoena's vast experience, which could prove to be invaluable in a youthful Ajax team.

"He has a lot of experience and can also help in the team on and off the field," he continued.

"He's been there, and this is also an opportunity not to just silence the critics but showcase what he has gained through the years and enjoy himself."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
