Cape Town - Mark Mayambela has confirmed that he has followed former coach Benni McCarthy out of the Cape Town City exit door.

McCarthy initially brought Mayambela to the club earlier this season, but since his sacking has found regular first-team football harder and harder to come by.

And now the mercurial 32-year-old has revealed that he has left the club by mutual consent and his contract has been terminated.

"I am no longer with the club. We have gone separate ways," Mayembela told KickOff.

"At the moment I am discussing my future with my agent."
