Matsatsantsa closing in on Uzoenyi

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns winger Ejike Uzoenyi is training with SuperSport United ahead of a proposed move to their Pretoria rivals.

The Nigerian has failed to establish himself in Pitso Mosimane's side since signing from Enugu Rangers in 2014, making just six appearances in a season and a half at Chloorkop.

Uzoenyi hadn't featured at all for the Brazilians in the first half of the 2015/16 campaign and was reported to be the subject of an approach from Matsatsantsa earlier this week.

The 27-year-old is now expected to become Gordon Igesund's second acquisition of the January transfer window, with Mark Mayambela having arrived from Chippa United last week.

A loan deal looks the more likely option for United, with Uzoenyi contracted to Sundowns for another two years.
