Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba is looking forward to playing in front of the loyal Lidoda Duvha crowd after signing for Black Leopards.
The Leopards supporters are known for coming out in their numbers come rain or shine whether it is during the week or on the weekend.
Matlaba will have his first experience as a home player in front of the Thohoyandou faithful when Limpopo rivals Polokwane City come to visit in the opening Absa Premiership match of the season on August 3 and it is something the left-back is looking forward to.
“The crowd is the one that pushes the team to do well, but the team did not have a right record away from home last season which is something we need to fix. But I’m looking forward to playing in front of the crowd at Thohoyandou because those people support the team," the 31-year-old told KickOff.
"They are expecting a lot after the team made some big signings, they expect us to deliver. So there’s no time to sleep, there’s no time to rest. We need to deliver, we need to work hard."
