Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Thabo Matlaba felt that CAF Confederation Cup champions Etoile du Sahel had luck on their side in the second leg of the final.
The Tunisians clinched the continental cup competition following a 2-1 aggregate win on the final over two legs.
After dominating African giants Al Ahly Zamalek to reach the final, Matlaba believes their performance against Etoile was a huge disappointment.
The Buccaneers got stage fright to lose their second CAF title after their 3-1 loss to Al Ahly in the Champions League.
"Everyone is hurting from this loss but we have to move on. I think we started off very tensely and were scared to concede," Matlaba told Soccer Laduma.
"It was only in the second half that we started playing, as we were not playing against the wind anymore.
"Their players congratulated us after the game and confessed that they didn't know how they'd beat us.
"I'm sure Zamalek and Al-Ahly are really disappointed in us as they expected us to win it after beating them. It is painful to be a runner-up in so many competitions."
