Masinga hails 'Downs achievements

Cape Town - Former Bafana Bafana striker Phil Masinga has sang the praises of Mamelodi Sundowns following their CAF Champions League win over ES Setif.

The Brazilians secured 2-0 away win over the Algerians in the continental competition on Saturday.

Masinga, who played for Sundowns during the 1990s, hopes the current crop of players will do better than his team.

"That's what Sundowns needed. They needed to start on a good result mainly as they were playing away," Masinga told Soccer Laduma.

"If they can continue like that even at home then they can go all the way. They have the chance now because they know what to expect from other teams."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
