Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of Ajax Cape Town defender Rivaldo Coetzee, with Mario Booysen going the other way.
Having seen his move to Glasgow Celtic fall through due to a failed medical, Coetzee will instead further his career with the African champions, who announced his signing late on Thursday night.
"Mamelodi Sundowns have bolstered their defence with the acquisition of Bafana Bafana Centre Back Rivaldo Coetzee on a five-year contract from Ajax Cape Town.
"The 20-year-old comes with a wealth of experience that betrays his age with three years on the international scene as a Bafana player," read part of a statement on the Sundowns website.
The Tshwane team also confirmed that 29-year-old defender Mario Booysen will return to Ajax, the club where he began his career.
Booysen has spent the last two seasons on loan at SuperSport United and has signed a three year deal with the Urban Warriors.
Meanwhile SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews has criticised Mamelodi Sundowns' dealings in the transfer market.
Sundowns have for the past few weeks been linked strongly with signing SuperSport striker Jeremy Brockie.
Matsatsantsa were able to hang on to the New Zealand international, with the transfer window having closed on Thursday night.
Sundowns were able to make several big signings, including George Lebese from Chiefs and Oupa Manyisa from Pirates.
