Maritzburg looking to offload Zulu

Pietermaritzburg - Maritzburg United are willing to entertain any bids for midfielder Philani Zulu in the upcoming January transfer window.

Zulu has fallen out with the club management after declining an offer of a contract extension and allegedly signing a pre-contract with an as-yet unnamed Gauteng club.

Zulu played an influential role last season when the club escaped relegation but has struggled to secure a regular place in the first team this term.

"He is still here, training with the first team. Right now he cannot make the squad and, according to his contract, will be with us until the end of the season," club official Quintin Jettoo told KickOff.

"However, if there is any club interested in him during the next transfer window, then we will be willing to engage them as per procedure."
