Maritzburg confident over Atouba's work permit

Cape Town - Maritzburg United believe Cameroon striker Yazid Atouba will be available to play in Saturday's second leg home MTN8 semi-final against SuperSport United.

The KZN club head into the game knowing they have a good chance of making it to a first ever cup final, after scoring an important away goal in the 1-1 first leg match in Pretoria two weeks back.

And as a further boost to their chances, it's looking likely that Atouba, a deadline day signing late last week, could be available for selection for head coach Fadlu Davids.

"We think we should get it [work permit] well before the weekend‚" general manager Quintin Jettoo told TimesLive.

The 24-year-old Atouba is a full Cameroon international, having made his debut in 2011 in a friendly in Angola.

He previously played for Canon Yaounde and Coton Sport (both in Cameroon), Chicago Fire (USA) and AS Vita (DR Congo).
