Cape Town - In a miraculous turn of events Maritzburg United find themselves in the top half of the Absa Premiership.
United have been flirting with relegation throughout the campaign and went through two coaches, namely Ernst Middendorp and Roger de Sa, who were both shown the door following poor results.
Assistant coach Fadlu Davids took over on an interim basis to steer the club forward and the Coach of the Month for April has exceeded the expectations of United chairman Farook Kadodia.
"The club, myself, would support and guide coach Fadlu Davids to the best success and aspirations that he has," Kadodia said as quoted by KickOff website.
"It is important to understand he's the young coach, we grooming him well, he's got aspirations, he's got a great work ethic, he's got the ingredients of being a good coach.
"We need to support him, and guide him, and give him the support around his technical team that will enable him to achieve a lot going forward.
"Any good coach is also surrounded by good players, and a good technical team, and surrounded by a good board. I think it is important for us to do that for any coach.”
Davids will hope to secure a top eight finish with United’s final three matches against Platinum Stars, Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic.
