Cape Town - Bafana Bafana play-maker Leboganga Manyama could not hide his delight after securing a move to Turkish Super Lig side Konyaspor after a scintillating domestic season.
The 26-year-old left Cape Town City after captaining the side in their debut Premiership campaign to a third place finish and the Telkom Knockout crown.
His 13 goals in 29 league games saw him pick up the leagues top scorer award, the Players' Player of the Season and the Premiership Player of the Season award.
"I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but I'm just looking forward to enjoying every moment of this new chapter and, of course, to see how far I can push myself," he told KickOff website.
Now after completing a R10million move to the Europa League group stage representatives, the Ajax Cape Town Academy graduate paid homage to Citizens owner John Comitis for playing an integral part in his career.
"To the big boss (Comitis), you gave me my first PSL contract, you were part of my first move to one of the big teams in Gauteng, you took me and made me your first ever captain for Cape Town City," he said via his personal Instagram account.
"We went on to win our first cup in our first ever season in the PSL. Now you have allowed me the chance to go and grow in Europe, and words can never be enough to show the gratitude I have for all you have done in my career.
"Thank you very much big boss. May the good Lord grant you all the strength you need to fulfill all you have for yourself, your family and Cape Town City."
