Maluleka: Our fate is not in our hands

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka admits that the Glamour Boys only have themselves to blame after suffering an embarrassing 3-0 loss to Chippa United at FNB Stadium.

Amakhosi were shown no remorse over the weekend as fans pelted the clubs staff and players as they left the field at the end of the match.

“It’s very difficult but, then again, we put ourselves in this position with the points that we dropped, when we could have maybe gotten a draw or collected maximum points,” said Maluleka as quoted by KickOff website.

“But we have ourselves to blame for that and that’s how football goes. Our fate is not in our hands, and right now we just need to focus on ourselves.

“Even if we took four sets of three points then we could have been talking a different story now.”

According to the club’s website, the Soweto giants will welcome Platinum Stars for an Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, April 14.

Amakhosi will look at this match to redeem themselves while Dikwena will arrive at FNB Stadium with confidence following their 2-0 victory over Polokwane City.

Chiefs are now in fourth position on the league table with 39 points from 26 games, while Platinum Stars remain rooted at the bottom of the log with 21 points from the same number of matches.

Kick-off is at 20:15.
