Maluleka: I need consistency

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka has made a New Year's resolution to get more game-time for the Sowetan side.

The 27-year-old is well on his way to achieving his goal after starting in the goalless draw against Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend.

After making 14 appearances as a substitute in the first-half of the season, Maluleka is eyeing another starting berth against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

"I need consistency. I have been hot and cold here and there but the chances that I have had I feel I have done enough," he told KickOff.

"Obviously that is all up to the coach but I will always try add on whatever is needed and I will always fight for the team.

"We haven't had the best of starts but it hasn't been the worst as well. We have dropped unnecessary points with the draws that we have had.

"What needs to change is that if we start playing well then we will definitely start getting the results. We have been inconsistent at times but the coach has highlighted that consistency will get us through."
