Malesela's half-time talk did the trick against Chiefs

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Dan Malesela revealed that he gave his players the 'hairdryer' treatment at half-time in the 3-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs.

Chippa came from behind to compound the misery of the underperforming Chiefs outfit at the Nelson Mandel Bay Stadium on Saturday.

Siphiwe Tshabalala gave Amakhosi the lead in the 15th minute while the Chilli Boys were powered to victory by a two goals from Lerato Manzini and and another by Tshwarelo Bereng.

"I played mind games at half-time, speaking to certain players with all sorts of things, leaving the club and what what, and all this... it worked hey, it worked very well," Malesela told SuperSport.

"I'm just pleased that at last we managed to score, and three goals nogal, so that's good. We still have a lot of things to work on but I'm happy with this, we needed this win and thank God that we did.

"I'm tired of saying these things happen, I don't want to say that anymore because they've been happening for quite some time, but we'll find ways to stop it from happening.

"All in all I'm very appreciative of the efforts of the players, I know there were a lot of tired bodies. Very well done, what else can you say? Three goals takes us up a bit, it's good. Good for these people here (in Port Elizabeth)."
