Malesela: We needed to boost the moral

Cape Town - Chippa United coach Daniel Malesela breathed a sigh of relief after his team's 2-0 victory over Golden Arrows at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

The Chilli Boys clinched the precious points courtesy of second half goals from Nkosinathi Mthiyane and Lerato Manzini.

Malesela praised his players after losing Bongani Twala and Mark Mayambela to Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United respectively during the week.

"It was a good win after losing to Wits. We needed to boost the moral and revive the spirit of the team," Malesela told KickOff.

"I couldn't watch Arrows in the past two games and I couldn't get footage to analyse them. But I know them - they can pass the ball well. We are trying to build a completely new team and hopefully we will get there.

"We have to replace them (Twala and Mayambela), we cannot just reduce the team with two players. As we have done now, life goes on, players come and players go.

"This is life and it goes on, that's all. But to be honest we can't close doors and we can't shut the doors to any players. We need wingers, out-and-out wingers, and it's not easy to find them at this time of the season."
