Makaringe backs Bucs to turn things around

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Fortune Makaringe has backed the Buccaneers to emerge from their current slump and put together a winning streak.

Pirates have won just two of their ten matches this season and have had to adapt to a new coach after Milutin Sredojevic resigned and Rhulani Mokwena took the reins.

And Makaringe, who has been an integral figure in the Sea Robbers' set-up since joining from Maritzburg United in the off-season, believes the Soweto giants will soon return to winning ways.

'I am optimistic person."I am happy that the people (players) I live with are also optimistic," Makaringe told KickOff.

"So no matter what, Pirates must step up. The Buccaneers must start to win because Pirates is a team that play to win. It's a team for the fans and deserve to win. I have no doubt we will get out of the current position.

"There is a lot to improve. As a player you channel yourself to aspire more. I can say I am happy (with my performance) but I have not reached the level I can say I am comfortable. There is still lot to do."
