Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs' latest signing Kabelo Mahlasela believes that the club's fans deserve to see the team winning trophies because Amakhosi boast a rich history of success.
The attacking midfielder recently joined from Bloemfontein Celtic on a two-and-a-half-year contract after previously spending the same period of time with Siwelele.
Mahlasela played an influential role in helping Celtic to reach the Telkom Knockout final in December 2017 although they eventually lost at the hands of champions Bidvest Wits.
"This is a dream come true for me and I’m happy that I am part of this big institution," the player told the club's official website.
"The welcome by the chairman, staff, coaches and team mates has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to engaging with the supporters.
"I am aware of the pressure that comes with playing for Kaizer Chiefs.
"The only way to repay those who recommended me to the Kaizer Chiefs management and to keep the supporters happy is to work hard and make sure we do well as a team - this way our names will be added to the glorious history of the club.
"Walking around the offices and seeing the trophies in the cabinet and the professional way the team is run is motivating enough and I will not let anyone down."
The talented 26-year-old added: "The fans play a big role in spurring us on and we know the emotional investment they put in – ours is to deliver so they go home happy."
