Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt believes Phakamani Mahlambi is comparable to Mamelodi Sundowns ace Khama Billiat, although the striker has age on his side.
The young star has captured the attention of the country after some fine early displays for the Clever Boys, although a knee injury in February halted his progress.
The club has since revealed that he will likely make his return in February next year, although he may see some playing time in December as well.
Nonetheless, while Mahlambi has yet to fully prove himself as one of South Africa's brightest young talents, Hunt is of the belief that the teenager is of similar ilk to Billiat.
"If you compare him to a Billiat, Billiat's 25. This boy's 19. Okay, he's had a major problem but he's the same type of player," he told TMG Digital.
"He's got the same elusiveness and ability to turn. Quickness, pace and all those things...he's got that."
The Johannesburg-born star has been recovering from his knee injury for over seven months, and Wits want him to continue that process for at least nine months.
