Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns have welcomed the arrival of highly-rated Bafana Bafana forward Phakamani Mahlambi from Al Ahly.

Mahlambi made his name at Wits before joining the Egyptian giants but was unable to establish himself in Cairo.

The 20-year-old, who won an Absa Premiership title with the Clever Boys before his switch to the Red Devils, has put pen to paper on a lucrative five-year deal.

It means coach Pitso Mosimane now has plenty of options in attack especially since the departures of the likes of Leo Castro and Khama Billiat to Kaizer Chiefs, as well as Percy Tau to Europe.

During his time in North Africa, the player scored one goal and assisted a further five.

The Brazilians tweeted from the side's official Twitter account: "Let's Welcome Phakamani to the Yellow Family Masandawana!"
