Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos forward Mxolisi Macuphu insists the team's talent and history is wasted in the National First Division.
Jomo Sono's side have struggled to cement their place in the Absa Premiership over the last few years, and are currently battling to come back up to the top-flight.
However, despite trailing league leaders Thanda Royal Zulu by 13 points, Macuphu believes Cosmos are a PSL team and haven't ruled out winning the NFD this season.
“We are a big team with rich history and amazing potential, and playing in the NFD has done no justice to what this team is capable of," Macuphu told his club's website.
“Presently we’re fifth on the log, but we are not ruling out the possibility of winning the league.
“If we can win five or six games on the trot it would give us a huge advantage of catching up with Thanda Royal at the top. That’s why we are pushing extra hard to, at least, achieve our objective of returning to the PSL.
“It won’t be easy though, but the marvelous talent at Cosmos, and playing under a legend like Dr Sono, is a driving force on its own. We must just keep working hard to win that promotion because we cannot settle for anything less."
