Mabokgwane stresses need for concentration

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has stressed the importance of remaining focused throughout the match after falling to a late 1-1 draw with Baroka.

Bakgaga found a miraculous late equaliser via the spectacular overhead kick by goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke, which gave Bucs' keeper no chance. Masuluke's strike cancelled Justice Chabalala's 48th minute goal earlier the second half.

"That is a game we should won if we had kept a high level of concentration in the crucial moments of the game at our defence," he told Vodacom Soccer.

"Yes, in a game of football things like these happen, but honestly we need to up a level of concentration at our defence.

"Because the same thing happened when we played a 1-all draw with Platinum Stars in September where we let them get a 90th minute equaliser.

"But all is not lost because at least we have managed to come out with a point from Baroka who really gave us a tough game. We have now switched our focus on our Saturday's home clash against Highlands Park.

"There are no easy games in these days, so we are up for another tough encounter against Highlands Park. Remember, they are still smarting from a 5-0 thrashing by Sundowns. So, surely they will come to us with guns blazing with an intent to redeem themselves," he concluded.

The Buccaneers next welcome Highlands Park to the Orlando Stadium on Saturday and will be looking to restore the team's confidence by securing three points against a struggling Highlands Park side who are last in the standings.

Kick off is scheduled for 20:15.
