Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane has been ruled out for the remainder of the season as he recovers from a successful operation to his finger, the club confirmed.
Mabokgwane injured his finger during a training session and the club said the shot-stopper will miss six weeks of action, ruling the 31-year-old out of the final two league games this campaign.
The statement from Pirates read: "Goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane underwent a successful operation on his injured finger.
"Unfortunately, due to this intervention, this means that the goal minder will miss the remaining games of the season against Cape Town City and Polokwane City.
"Mabokgwane, who injured his finger during a training session is expected to be out for around six weeks."
Good news coming from the Buccaneers camp ahead of their big clash against Cape Town City on Saturday is that defender Diamond Thopola and midfielder Kudakwashe Mahachi have both resumed full training.
The duo will be a big help as Pirates try to win their last two PSL games to clinch the league title.
