Cape Town - Maritzburg United are said to be thinking about the possibility of cashing in on Lebohang Maboe, with a reported asking price of around R8 million.

The 23-year-old has been in outstanding form for Maritzburg over the past two years and had a particularly impressive campaign in 2017/18.

A driving and creative force from the middle of the park, the former Mbombela United man starred in the Nedbank Cup and won both the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament and the Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player awards.

While the Team of Choice are believed to be holding out for an overseas offer, several reports including one from Soccer Laduma website have claimed interest from Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, as well as Belgium club, KV Oostende.

The same publication also revealed that a €500 000 (R7.8 million) price tag has been placed on Maboe's head.

Maboe shone for Bafana Bafana at the COSAFA Cup last month, scoring three goals in two games for his country.
