Maboe confident of success at Sundowns

Cape Town - Newly signed Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Lebohang Maboe is confident of having a successful career with the Brazilians.

Maboe, who last season won the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament award, made a big move from Maritzburg United to Sundowns after an impressive 2017/18 season.

The 23-year old stated that he also dreams of playing in Europe to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Keagan Dolly, Bongani Zungu and Percy Tau, who all enjoyed successful spells with the Brazilians before making a move abroad.

The young attacking midfielder made an immediate impact for Pitso Mosimane's side opening his account in his first start for the Brazilians in the 2-0 win over Polokwane City.

"The way they line-up is similar to that of Maritzburg and it was easy for me to adapt," Maboe told Supersport.

"I would also say the fact I'm also a good player, I easily get to understand people and players around me. That helped me a lot.

"Well, obviously first of all I want to win trophies before I can even think of making a move abroad."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
