Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic heaped more misery on Platinum Stars with a 1-0 win at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon in an Absa Premiership encounter.
Dikwena started well with some swift passing to peg Celtic back early on. Gerald Phiri failed to test Patrick Tignyemb though as Lucky Baloyi's 12th minute effort flew well over the target at the other end.
Celtic though were the more decisive of the two on the break and Deon Hotto had a good chance to catch out Mbongeni Mzimela, but his tame effort failed to trouble the Stars stopper.
Hotto then so nearly played provider after played Baloyi through on goal on 25 minutes but his shot lacked the necessary conviction to beat Mzimela.
Kabelo Dlamini fired wide and Ronald Pfumbidzai headed just past a post as Celtic continued to attack, with Ndumiso Mabena also guilty of wasting a good chance to break the deadlock ahead of the half-time whistle.
Hotto was off target as Celtic looked for an early second-half goal, but after being pegged back by a determined Stars backline, they were finally in the lead, with 58 minutes on the clock.
Mabena did well to get into the box and volley Hotto's delivery past Mzimela.
Baloyi continued his wayward shooting while substitute Bongi Ntuli came as close an anyone to finding the back of the net with a close-range header late on that Tignyemb got down well to collect.
