Cape Town - New Ajax Cape Town attacker Jucie Lupeta has vowed to contribute goals in the upcoming season for the Urban Warriors.
The Portuguese striker failed to impress last season during his time at Wits after 14 appearances and no goals to his name.
However, Lupeta has promised to make up for his underwhelming performances at Wits.
"I studied every player before I signed, so I knew exactly what I was getting myself into when I signed," Lupeta told Goal.com website.
"So I know Prince Nxumalo scored a lot of goals, Nathan Paulse scores goals and so does Tassie Morris, and that is a huge thing for me because I like to work hard every day. So if they work hard every day, I will work more than that because competition is high and good.
"So if they scored tomorrow, I will work to score twice the next day. I think honestly, I didn't score enough goals for Wits because I never managed to get my confidence up.
"Every time I came from the bench and I feel I lacked my confidence and if you asked my former teammates about me at training, they would tell you a different story.
"Unfortunate though, because I never showed that in games, and that was honestly because I never got the opportunity to showcase what I can do. I was never the first choice. But I continued to work hard every day."
