Lorch promises top 8 finish for Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates winger Thembinkosi Lorch is confident that they can clinch the Nedbank Cup in addition to securing a top-eight finish.

The 23-year-old has been in fine form for the Soweto giants, bagging the man-of-the-match award and scoring the equaliser in his most two recent encounters, against Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United respectively.

Lorch, who was brought back from his loan spell with Chippa United, has vowed to help bring back the glory days at Mayfair.

"They (fans) must keep on supporting us," he told SowetanLive website.

"We've been trying hard to win the games and it is just that luck was not on our side.

"I promise them (the supporters) the Nedbank Cup and we will finish in the top eight."

Pirates will look to put an end to their current dismal run, which has seen them go 12 games without a win.

This weekend they face EC Bees in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 on Sunday at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium.

Kick off is at 15:00.
